Is Pfizer/BioNTech Approved in the UK?

The United Kingdom had recognized all four vaccines approved for use by EMA – Pfizer/BioNTech (Comirnaty), Moderna (Spikevax), AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Johnson & Johnson (Janssen).

Consequently, all persons who have been immunized with the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine can enter the UK for travel purposes. Except for the above-mentioned vaccines, the Covishield vaccine has also been approved by the UK’s authorities lately.

Is Pfizer/BioNTech Approved in the US?

The Pfizer vaccine is the first to get full approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). At first, the vaccine got the green light for emergency use only.

However, since the jab proved to be highly effective at preventing Coronavirus disease, the vaccine is now fully authorized for use for those aged 16 and over.

As such, this means that all persons who have been vaccinated with Pfizer will be permitted entry to the US once the country opens for international travelers. However, it is still unclear whether fully vaccinated travelers will face any entry restrictions since no system for international travelers has been in place until now.
